Dave Laden

This Garden state native and Emmy award winning director first joined the Hungry Man family in 2010, fresh off his win at the AICP show in NY for his PSA “Grace” for PETA. Since then he has delivered more outstanding work to his repertoire including award winning ads for Planet Fitness, Taco Bell, NBC and TRUTH, Seattle’s Best Coffee and Samsung to name a few.

Laden began his career as an Art Director at Ogilvy & Mather NY where he found himself writing spots for Amex with legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld. He then moved up to Creative Director at Goodby Silverstein and Partners in San Francisco working on notable campaigns like, “Got Milk”, Saturn and Comcast. Currently an LA resident, Dave’s background as an agency creative and instincts as a filmmaker have provided a solid foundation for his work.

In 2017 Dave won and Emmy for his NBC Sports Nascar Super Bowl spot starring Nick Offerman. Then Laden kicked off 2018 with a bang, shooting two separate Super Bowl spots for Peta and Hyundai, respectively, and continued that momentum in 2019 by bringing home yet another Cannes Lion for his work on Hulu’s Sell-Outs campaign, a collection of commercials featuring some of the biggest athletes on earth including Damian Lillard, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LaMelo Ball, Saquon Barkley, Todd Gurley, and the entire Woman’s World Cup Champion soccer team.

2020 challenged the world but Dave Laden met that challenge head on. He spent his lockdown writing, directing, producing, and starring in several short films, The Daves, featuring three different versions of Dave Laden all going through quarantine conflicts together. And as soon as the law allowed Dave was back at the commercial game making a splash with his Hulu “Deepfake” commercials. Produced under the strictest of safety protocols, “Deepfake” stars Baker Mayfield and Saquon Barkley’s faces superimposed on other actors’ bodies creating an uber-meta, Covid-friendly production that brought home 3 Clio wins, 4 One Show nods, and a Sports Emmy Award nomination. He followed that up by co-directing Bud Light’s “Super Bowl Legends” spot for Super Bowl LV.
