Alex Roberts

Alex Roberts is a dynamic and comedic storyteller whose work spans documentaries, music videos, and commercial campaigns across Australia and New Zealand. Since launching his career as an award-winning music video director, Alex’s assured visual style and tone have led him to work on over 80 campaigns, including those for Intel, Virgin, McDonald’s, Air New Zealand, Hyundai, and Uber Eats’s iconic “Tonight I’ll Be Eating” campaigns featuring Simon Cowell, The Wiggles, Paris Hilton, and the Irwins. He has also had the pleasure of working knee height alongside NBA stars Dikembe Mutombo and Anthony Davis in various Mobil 1 campaigns in the US.

Alex’s debut documentary feature film, El Metido, premiered at Melbourne International Film festival in 2020. In contrast to his commercial work, it presents a dark portrait of a man obsessed with recording crime in Guatemala City.

Alex identifies as half Kiwi on his mother’s side, which likely contributes to his sense of humor; however, his accent is classically Aussie bogan.
