Dan Opsal is an Emmy-nominated sketch writer/director for his work at the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where, for more than five years, he directed every pre-taped sketch the show produced. During this time, he also wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning web series,“Sugarboy”.
Some of Dan’s recent work includes Hobo Johnson’s first music video for Warner Brothers Records, the cold open for the Golden Globes – a La La Land Parody with Jimmy Fallon and variety of other celebrities; the intro film for Sarah Silverman’s show, I Love You America, and a hilarious Video for the Espy’s starring Danica Patrick and Aaron Rogers. His commercial work has teamed him up with some of the world’s biggest brands like Amazon, Pepsi, Wendy’s, ESPN, State Farm, and MasterCard.
Recently, Dan directed a celebrity laden campaign for Geico. Filmed in the new age of Covid-19 production, he filmed 3 spots with celebrities and SAG actors, embracing the remote filming techniques required during a difficult time. Dan has enjoyed working with a-list celebrities like Kevin Bacon, Jeff Goldblum, Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Amy Adams, Ryan Reynolds, Adam Devine, Peyton Manning, Sterling K. Brown, John Travolta, Tina Fey, Drew Barrymore and oh so many more, even Michelle Obama.
Dan is an Iowa-born Corn Boy. He loves pancakes and sharks. He now lives in Los Angeles which he also seems to love.
