FLORIAN Reittner
Hailing from Salzburg, Austria, Florian Reittner has a razor-sharp eye for detail, quirky sense of humour, and an uncanny ability to make even the most mundane things look absurdly cinematic.
His journey kicked off in the world of feature-length ski documentaries (because nothing says “cinematic mastery” like capturing someone eating it on a double black diamond in glorious slow motion), before working his way up the ranks at Helmet, a Norwegian production and visual effects studio. After leaving Helmet, Florian returned to Austria and founded the production company Nautilus Films.
Since then, Florian’s been stacking up awards like a kid collecting Pokémon cards. His 2023 spot The Giving Dead didn’t just win big—it cleaned up. Gold at the Young Director Awards, Art Director’s Club, Andys, and International Awards, plus a Bronze Clio and Ciclope.
Last year, his work for Orion (Knights of Passion) and Interrail (Winds of Change) landed nominations at the 2024 AICP Awards—where Winds of Change walked away with the Gold. He also won a nice, shiny statue at this year’s Shiny awards.
With a reel brimming with bold, witty, and visually striking work, Florian Reittner is more than just a promising up-and-comer—he’s new blood in the creative veins of commercial filmmaking. As his body of work continues to grow, one thing is clear: Florian isn’t just making ads—he’s making waves. And he’s definitely one to watch.
