Saul Dibb is a Bafta-nominated director and writer whose powerful and multi award-winning work has made him one of the UK’s leading filmmakers.
 
After critically acclaimed documentaries such as TOTTENHAM AYATOLLAH, Saul’s debut feature was the ground-breaking and highly influential BULLET BOY (2003), nominated for several BIFAs, the Golden Hitchcock at Dinard and winning Evening Standard’s ‘Best Newcomer’.
 
Saul went on to direct an adaptation of Booker-winning novel THE LINE OF BEAUTY (2006) with Dan Stevens and Hayley Atwell, nominated by the Broadcasting Press Guild for Best Drama Series. It was followed by THE DUCHESS (2008) starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling, the most successful independent British film of the year, nominated for and winning Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, Critics Circle, European Film Awards and BIFAs along with many more.
 
In 2013 Saul directed his own adaptation (co-written with Matt Charman) of the acclaimed novel SUITE FRANCAISE starring Michelle Williams, Matthias Schoenaerts, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Margot Robbie. In 2016 he directed NW, a single BBC film adapted from Zadie Smith’s novel starring Nikki Amuka-Bird. It was nominated for several BAFTAs including Best Single Drama, a Broadcast Award for Best Single Drama and won the coveted top prize of Best Drama at FIPA.
 
After that Saul directed the huge critical success JOURNEY’S END for Lionsgate (2018) starring Sam Claflin, Paul Bettany, Stephen Graham and Asa Butterfield, attracting a range of international awards and nominations. It was followed by the opening two episodes of DUBLIN MURDERS, a series adaptation of the Tana French novels for BBC/Starz, nominated for 4 IFTAs and best limited series at the Banff TV Festival.
 
In 2020 Saul directed and exec-produced BBC mini-series THE SALISBURY POISONINGS (2020). Starring Anne-Marie Duff and Rafe Spall, it got 5* reviews across the board and was the UK’s biggest launch of any drama in the last five years before becoming a global hit on Netflix. He is currently making THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT, a 4-part BBC limited series written by Sarah Phelps starring Timothy Spall, Anne Reid, Sheila Hancock, Annabel Scholey and Ben Bailey Smith.
